Hoppy Birthday Card

It has been a while since I've posted anything. I went on a blogging-spree on NSD and haven't posted since. May has been a very crazy month for me.

The Pink Stamper had a card challenge using green, yellow and brown. Here is a birthday card I made. I used the Give a Hoot cartridge for the frog. The paper is K&Company "Citronella" pack along with some solid colors I got at Archiver's. The ribbon is Martha Stewart. The buttons are from JoAnn's.
Thanks for looking! I will be posting more often after May is over. :) I am going to make a goal to post at least once a week. that seems pretty reasonable to me.

NSD- CHALLENGE #12 (Critter-licious)

I had a lot of fun making this card. I just got my "Give a Hoot" cartridge in the mail today and I was itching to give it a test run! I had hoped that it was going to come last week but at least I got to use it today for the card challenge.

The challenge was to use a critter or animal on your card. I love the cute animals on this cart so it was a hard decision to come up with only one! This squirrel stole my heart and it was so fun to use all those layers (I had recently made an owl card for a different challenge or else I would've picked it). I added a little bling in the lower right hand corner but it was hard to get it to show up in the pic. I also really like the Green Stack from DCWV; it just seems to go perfectly with the Give a Hoot cart so I couldn't wait to use it.
And this is the last of the challenges and I feel so glad that I was able to do them all! What a fun National Scrapbooking Weekend! Thanks again to the Pink Stamper for making this challenge so fun with all of the giveaways. Have a great week everyone!

NSD- CHALLENGE #11 (Colors of the Rainbow)

Challenge was to use all of the colors of the rainbow. I made a "Congrats" Card and used all of the "ROY G BIV" colors on it. Thanks for looking. :)

NSD Challenge #10 - May Day

Whew! Trying to make it to the end and I'm worn out. This whole event was so fun that it was well worth the time (plus I got a few items on my upcoming calendar knocked out ahead of time).

For this challenge we were to make a spring time card and it needed a flower on it. Nothing wrong with simple, is there? I love the spring colors - vibrant greens, robin's egg blues, white clouds, pale yellows.

Here is what I used to make the card:

Cricut Cartridges: Just Because Cards (label); Forever Young (flower#6)

Cardstock: kraft, white, not sure what the color is for the base of the card (it's like a sandstone marble color)

Pattern Paper: Devonshire Collection (Kaisercraft)

Ink: Sandstone (Kaisercraft); Aegean blue (versamagic)

Accent: light blue rhinestone brad

NSD Challenge #9 - Shape

This was really fun. I like cards that are funny shapes. For this challenge I used the Wild Card cartridge and made a simple owl card. I am really liking owls, I think because they are usually fat looking birds. Either that or because they remind me of a tootsie pop!

Materials:
cardstock: turquoise, yellow, black, brown

Ink: Chocolate Chip (Stampin' Up), white gel pen

NSD Challenge #8 - Love my Color

This one was not too difficult. The challenge is to make a monochromatic card. I like using at least 4-5 different colors; but coming up with one main color and one neutral was a little harder because I needed some creativity. I like the simplicity of this card, though.

NSD Challenge #7 - Dad Card

This was so fun! I had posted my Dad's card on challenge #2 for the Scrappy Happy. I didn't want to use the same card for this challenge so I decided to make another one that my kids could give to their dad. Masculine cards are very hard for me because I want to add a sparkly something to almost every card I make! So I decided to make a very simple card and my only embellishment was a couple of buttons, some twine, and some doodling.

Here is what I used to make it:

Cricut Cartridge - Wild Card (argyle and "dad")

Cardstock: light blue, light green, white

Ink: blue Versamagic

Accents: light blue and white gel pen, green and blue buttons, hemp twine

NSD Challenge #6- Kids Craft, too!

This challenge was to make something for a child or to make something with a child. I tried to convince both of my boys to work on something with me but it was a no go. So, instead I decided to think forward to the end of the year and make something to give to a child. With summer right around the corner, I have some preschoolers that will be graduating out of my class at church. Our group is called the "purple lambs" so I made some goodies for them to take home after our graduation party. I kept it simple with a tag that said, "We'll miss Ewe!"
(sorry that the picture came out a little too dark)

Here is what I made:

Cricut Carts- TBBM (lunchbag)(tag); Just Because Cards (Sheep)

cardstock - green, white, black

Pattern paper - purple polka dots

ink- black gel pen, purple gel pen

accents- gem

fibers - White ribbon, stretchy lace cord (the kind used to make bead bracelets) Elmer's

NSD Challenge - #5 (Teacher Appreciation)

This challenge was to come up with something beautiful for the teachers that my children have. It is perfect timing to work on this because we celebrate the staff at their school all this week. My boys both have amazing teachers and I am so happy that they enjoy their classes and their school. Great teachers make all the difference in a child's enthusiasm for learning!!!

NSD Challenge #4- (Least used cartridge)

This Challenge was to use a Cricut cart that either you don't like very much or is least likely to be used. I don't have very many to choose from but I think that out of them I just don't use Doodlecharms enough. Not that I don't like it. It's just that I got a couple of the more recent carts that came out and I put this one on the back shelf. Thanks to this challenge for getting me to bring it to the craft table again. It also gave me a good excuse to make a card with my feline friends in mind.

Materials-
Cardstock: kraft, pumpkin, light green, rose, white

Pattern Paper: (stripes) DCWV

Ink: (Really Rust) Stampin' Up; (black) versamagic; (rose) Kaisercraft

Tools: Cricut Cartridge - Doodlecharms (cat)

Clear Stamps: (sentiment and paw prints from Kitty set) Studio G

Fibers: hemp twine

Other: gel pen (black, white) and light blue rhinestones

NSD- Challenge #3 (outside the box)

Coloring in a stamped image. I usually like to use cricut cut images and stamped sentiments. I get colors from inks and paper. I just don't do much with images that need to be colored in. I thought I'd try coloring. I used some watercolor pencils and a glittery gel pen to add some sparkle.
I had a lot of fun making this "hello" card. And I was surprised that the only thing I used my Cricut for was to make a frame for my cute penguin!

NSD- CHALLENGE #1 (MOTHER'S DAY CARD)

Happy National Scrapbooking Day (NSD)! I love making cards so I am going to submit this card in a contest on The Pink Stamper. This is my first time celebrating NSD and I am so excited. The men in the house are feeling a little neglected but tolerating it well. :)
