Making a Masculine Card

I find it so hard to make a man-card that doesn't make my husband want to give up his own "man-card"! I listened to his feedback and the result is a very simple card. Here is what I came up with for Papertrey Ink's challenge.

A very simple card....hmmm... no strings, no buttons, no glitter. And even though my hubby recommended it, no beef jerky!!!!

Supplies:
Papers: They Guy Stack (DCWV), Simply Chartreuse, Fine Linen (PTI)
Ink: Antique Linen Distress Ink (Ranger), Chocolate Chip (SU)
Die: Fillable Frames #4 (PTI)
Stamps: Fillable Frames #4(PTI), Away We Go Road Trip (Fiskars)

Thanks for stoppin' by!

YOU'RE QUITE A CATCH!

"YOU'RE QUITE A CATCH!" CARD

I thought I'd try this challenge! Using a fish for a Father's day card was the only requirement. Not bad, right?! So I headed upstairs thinking that I had a fish somewhere (be it cricut shape or stamp). My heart sank when I couldn't find one.... what to do? I did finally find one; a small one. It was in the Wild Card cartridge so at least I had a starting point!

This is what I used to make my "S fold" style card:
Cricut Wild Card (for the fish and the reeds)
scrap cardstock
Teal ink (MS)
Stickles (broken china and a brown cordouroy)
Distressed Ranger ink (vintage photo)
twine
metallic gel pen (stitching and sentiment)

I will be giving this card to my husband for Father's Day. Thanks for looking!

NSD Challenge #7 - Dad Card

This was so fun! I had posted my Dad's card on challenge #2 for the Scrappy Happy. I didn't want to use the same card for this challenge so I decided to make another one that my kids could give to their dad. Masculine cards are very hard for me because I want to add a sparkly something to almost every card I make! So I decided to make a very simple card and my only embellishment was a couple of buttons, some twine, and some doodling.

Here is what I used to make it:

Cricut Cartridge - Wild Card (argyle and "dad")

Cardstock: light blue, light green, white

Ink: blue Versamagic

Accents: light blue and white gel pen, green and blue buttons, hemp twine

NSD- Challenge #2 (Scrappy Happy)

Challenge #2 is to use up some paper scraps I have left over. I wanted to make a fun card for Father's Day. It is a challenge for me to make cards that are masculine. I really like the DCWV paper pack that is called "The Guy". The colors go together so well and the patterns are manly. :) okay, well at least they're not flowers.

I used:
Cricut Cartridge "Doodlecharms" for the star (cut at 2")
Cardstock- brown, white, kraft
Pattern paper - The Guy (DCWV)
Clear Stamps- from Studio G (Happy Father's Day set)
Ink - Tea Leaves (Versamagic), Teal (Kaisercraft)
Accents- buttons (brown, tan)
Fibers- hemp cord
