NSD- Challenge #2 (Scrappy Happy)

Challenge #2 is to use up some paper scraps I have left over. I wanted to make a fun card for Father's Day. It is a challenge for me to make cards that are masculine. I really like the DCWV paper pack that is called "The Guy". The colors go together so well and the patterns are manly. :) okay, well at least they're not flowers.

I used:
Cricut Cartridge "Doodlecharms" for the star (cut at 2")
Cardstock- brown, white, kraft
Pattern paper - The Guy (DCWV)
Clear Stamps- from Studio G (Happy Father's Day set)
Ink - Tea Leaves (Versamagic), Teal (Kaisercraft)
Accents- buttons (brown, tan)
Fibers- hemp cord

JUST BECAUSE CRICUT CARTRIDGE

I also purchased this cartridge recently because I liked the great images and also the funny sayings that go with each image. I really like the peach on this cartridge. I wanted to make a card for a friend who is going to a training seminar next week. I hope that she is doing just peachy while there!

Here is what I used to make this card:
Cricut Cartridge: Just Because Cards
Cardstock: dark brown, orange, white, light green
Pattern Cardstock: DCWV (background and peach)
Ink: Chocolate Chip (SU)
Accents: letter brads
Fibers: white ribbon, orange sheer ribbon

CRICUT PRESERVES CARTRIDGE

I recently purchased this cartridge and could not wait to test it out. Now that the leaves are starting to come back on the trees, I look forward to the summer time when those beautiful blossoms will become fruit. I came from Southern California where orange groves were bountiful when I was growing up! I think I'll be sending this card to one of my other Cali friends who longs for the days of sunshine and warmth but has moved away, too.

I made this card using the following items:

Cricut Cartridge: Preserves
Cardstock: brown, kraft, orange, dark brown, light green and cream
Pattern paper: DCWV (on the orange)
Ink: Chocolate Chip (SU)
Accents: Green Buttons, Embossing Folder (medallion by Cuttlebug), Gel pens
Tools: Scallop Border Punch (SU)
Fiber: hemp twine

MPS Color Challenge (Green, Pink, Black)

Here is my card for the My Pink Stamper Challenge. I used Green, Pink, and Black along with the Forever Young Cartridge. I made my own background with black paper cut to look like zebra stripes. The paper is just loose leaf paper that I bought. The sentiment is from a Fiskars clear stamp set but I don't have the name of it (I threw out the packaging).

Thanks for looking!

My First Card Challenge

I am creating this blog because I am taking the plunge into the papercrafting world! I just started stamping and creating cards in the fall of 2009. I am so new to this but it is such a fun hobby for me.

I got the courage to sign up for a card challenge because of Robyn on My Pink Stamper website. She inspires me to be creative and to try things like these challenges no matter how long I've been making paper crafts. I appreciate her sense of humor and her encouragement to those of us who are new and less than confident in our creativity!!!
